Shanghai Sunrise is a non-profit organization creating access to education through scholarships for underprivileged youth.
Established in 1996, Shanghai Sunrise’s scholarship programs have provided 3,200 students with education and mentorship - tools that help create a brighter future. Graduates are able to realize fulfilling careers and become a positive force in the community.
The center aims to help the elderly cross the digital divide, build an online platform for the elderly to learn together, play together, show their style together and play a role together, organize community volunteers to carry out a number of "smart elderly" services, and innovate the "Happy Age Code" as the entrance to welcome the elderly into digital life.
Established in 2004, Lifeline remains the only English-speaking crisis helpline service in Mainland China. We operate as a 100% volunteer-based social enterprise, in cooperation with the Shanghai United Foundation. Our dedicated trained volunteers provide 12 hours/day of emotional support incorporating both a telephone service along with a Live Chat service every day from 10am to 10pm!
"Master Zhixiang began to rescue stray animals in 1993, and currently has over 10,000 dogs and more than 200 cats. The cats are housed in the Bao'en Temple and the dogs are in the Pudong base. Shanghai Fengxian District Qingcun Town Baoen Stray Animal Protection Club founded by Master Zhixiang, rented a total area of more than 11,000 square meters in Pudong , which has six greenhouses for stray dogs, and others as workers’ dormitories.
Zhixiang Master's kind deeds have attracted great attention from the society, many citizens have joined the great cause of loving life and protecting animals as volunteers, and they have maintained the operation of the base with an annual rent of 1.98 million yuan and 75 tons of dog food per month through dog food groups, cat litter groups, fostering groups, charity sales groups, and personal fundraising.

In 1991, world-renowned primatologist Jane Goodall started Roots & Shoots, a program designed to educate youths about environmental issues and humanitarian values with a special focus on group interaction. Roots & Shoots unites those who hold certain values in common: love for animals, care for the community, and devotion to protecting the environment. Shanghai Roots & Shoots was founded as a volunteer organization in November 1999. Five years later, in November 2004, Shanghai Roots & Shoots was granted a Non-Profit Organization status by the Shanghai Municipality Government.

1KG BOX focuses on innovative design of rural education. We have designed a series of diversified teaching toolkits for children and teachers in rural and underdeveloped areas of China, through instructional design and teacher support, so that high-quality education content and experiences can be delivered to the children in need at the lowest cost, so that more children can benefit from it. We have joined forces to gradually and deeply promote the reform of rural education through strategies such as teaching toolkit support, teacher growth empowerment and regional promotion.
As of 2021, it has affected more than 720,000 students, more than 8,200 schools, and more than 457,700 hours of various themed box lessons, covering almost all provinces in the country.
We believe that a good education should be life-oriented, connect with children's real lives, and prepare them for the future. As a series of multi-purpose teaching kits designed for children and teachers in rural China, each box of 1KG BOX responds to real problems or challenges that children face as they grow up. Through the use of inquiry-based instructional design methods, games, situational experiences and other forms allow children to learn about themselves, master life skills, and interact with the community. The box is low-cost, easy to operate, reproducible, and the tool-based design makes educational innovation easier. At present, our box is mainly used for the classrooms of grades 1-6 in rural primary schools, including four theme series of "reading, aesthetic education, life and society".
Founded in May 2008, China Doll Rare Disease Care Center has long been committed to providing medical, life, education and employment support for patients with osteogenesis imperfectia and other rare bone diseases, advocating public attention and support for rare bone disease groups, and promoting the continuous improvement of protection policies. Since its establishment, the center has provided medical rehabilitation assistance for more than 2,000 people, and various services have covered more than 4,000 families with rare bone diseases. Brand public welfare projects include "Iron Man Program", "Pocket Money Program", "Independent Living Program" and so on.
China Zigen Rural Education and Development Association is a non-profit organization dedicating to promote an equitable, people-centered society that upholds sustainable development. It supports people living in poverty in rural China to improve their unmet basic needs in the areas of basic education, primary health care, environmentally appropriate technologies and preservation of local culture.
To promote the idea of Education for Sustainable Development, China Zigen has been supporting more than 70 pilot rural Green Eco Schools and 20 Green Eco Villages throughout 11 provinces in China, including Guizhou, Yunnan, Sichuan, Shanxi, Gansu, Inner Mongaolia, Hebei, Henan, Hebei, Anhui, etc.
Through Green Eco Schools, we work with partner rural schools to fulfill students and teachers’ basic needs, providing environmentally friendly facilities, engaging students in gender education, environmental education, local culture preservation, providing teachers Education for Sustainable Development training. Through Green Eco Village program, we promote forestation and sustainable agriculture, supporting women’s group and elderly association in rural China, to empower the residents and engage students, teachers, and the community to build a sustainable village together.
Shenzhen Spring Environmental Protection Volunteers Association was founded in 2011, committed to coastal natural ecological resources conservation, water environment protection. Through the establishment of the volunteer empowerment Action network, we will promote the joint efforts of all sectors of society to promote environmentally sustainable development by means of environmental survey and conservation actions, volunteer training, environmental education, technical programs and professional consultation.
