Corporate Supply Chain-related ESG/Climate Policies and Dispute Resolution – Call for Panellists

In my function as Associate Professor at School of International Law, Shanghai University of Political Science and Law (SHUPL) it is my great pleasure to inform you about our seminar “Corporate Supply Chain-related ESG/Climate Policies and Dispute Resolution” taking place on Friday, 28 April 2023, at 3 pm China Standard Time (9 am CET, 7 am GMT). The seminar will be a hybrid event offering panellists and the audience the opportunity to participate both online and in-person in Shanghai at a venue still to be determined. The seminar will feature the following two panels:

Panel 1: Corporate ESG and Climate Policies for International Supply Chains

Panel 2: Contractual Cascading and ESG/Climate-related Dispute Resolution

The panellists will be representatives of multinational entities, SMEs, arbitration institutions, international law firms, auditing firms and universities. As ESG and climate change play an everincreasing

role for investors and other stakeholders, both EU and non-EU entities involved in international (in particular EU-related) supply/value chains will have the opportunity to introduce to the public their ESG policies and ESG-related due diligence mechanisms. Taking in particularly into consideration existing and upcoming EU law (e.g. the Corporate Sustainability Due Diligence Directive) having extraterritorial effects, contractual cascading and international commercial arbitration will be required to implement and enforce those policies along international supply chains.

The seminar’s target audience are C-level executives, in-house counsel, lawyers, academics and students.

We are looking forward to your expression of interest to become a panellist. Please do not hesitate to contact me for further information.
