The Yue Miao Foster Home in Shanghai is a private social welfare institu- tion and non-governmental organization supporting children with mental disabilities. As a responsible company which incorporates CSR in their DNA, Alfmeier Automotive System is constantly engaged in CSR activities. In 2020, Alfmeier decided to get more employees involved in supporting people with mental disabilities and therefore launched a partnership with the Yue Miao Foster Home. The company organized their first group of 15 volunteers to visit the Home including the Executive Vice President, his spouse and Oper- ation Director, Purchasing Managers, and various other employees. Alfmeier donated RMB 80,000 to renovate the third-floor children’s living quarters to improve female students’ living environment, especially improving its safety and security. In February 2021, the company organized their second group of volunteers to design and draw two cartoon murals for the children and made dumplings with Yue Miao teachers to celebrate the Year of the Ox. Alfmeier has already invited the founder of Yue Miao Foster Home to visit them and plans the next steps in CSR engagement to offer more support.
