COVID-19 turned into a global crisis which calls on everyone to stand together. As a company, Beiersdorf wanted to focus their contribution on several especially vulnerable groups, to support and protect them. In March 2020, the company announced a EUR 50 million international support program, dedicated to the most vulnerable parties in the COVID-19 pandemic. Beiersdorf initiated “We Care Beyond Skin”, which expresses the company’s passion and calling to reach beyond their core business – taking care of people’s skin – and max- imize their contribution to society and the planet. This program was divided into four different initiatives: 1. Financial donations; 2. Supporting employees personal volunteer initiatives; 3. Production and Donation of disinfectants and medical supplies and 4. Product donations. The company had different partners in implementing this project in each region. These partners included Plan International, Amref, Junior Achievement, UNICEF, Doctors Without Bor- ders and many more. Each partner cooperated with the company in different pillars according to local situations. Beierdorf plans to develop more projects for COVID-19 and will still focus on the environment and education.
