Project Name: “Starry Program” Educational Public Welfare Project

In 2005, SAIC VOLKSWAGEN and the China Youth Development Foundation jointly launched the “Starry Program”, which provides hardware facilities for rural schools. So far, it has built 11 schools of Project Hope and donated over 16 million yuan, benefiting more than 20,000 people. In 2022, the “Starry Program” has been upgraded to version 2.0, providing 12 original STEM courses (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics education) for recipient schools. While cultivating students’ scientific thinking, the courses also cover various sustainable development issues related to rural students, such as environmental protection and sustainable agriculture. 

During the implementation of the project, SAIC VOLKSWAGEN utilizes its scientific advantages by inviting its own engineers to collaborate with education experts in the development of STEM courses. Regularly, the company also organizes employee volunteers to visit schools and teach students. In the future, SAIC VOLKSWAGEN is going to focus on building schools and provide STEM education to more schools.
