To prevent the spread of COVID-19, many single persons and companies have been contributing to the pandemic efforts and those in need. HELLA Corporate Center China decided to contribute its own efforts as an important part of its corporate social responsibility initiative. The company identified hospitals located in Hubei province, that urgently needed medical supplies and who could directly accept dona- tions without an intermediary charity. With the synergy of the company’s global and regional teams, medical supplies were donated to the target hospitals. Efforts were coordinated between the hospitals and all HELLA employees. On 26 February 2020, Zhongnan Hospital of Wuhan University received donations from HELLA with an amount of around EUR 50,000. The donations were distributed amongst Zhonghan Hospital and the newly established Leishen Shan and FangCang hospitals, which are dedicated to treating patients affected by the pandemic. In addition, the company donated an infrared thermometer to Xi Nan Primary School in Zhangzhou, Fujian province that is placed at the front gate of the school to monitor students’ temperatures as they enter. HELLA will continuously engage in the fight against COVID-19 as an important part of its corporate social responsibility efforts.
