WE: Sustainable project cooperation with customers, to carry out the "cartridge recycling” project. PLANET: Cooperated with WDC (World Whale and Dolphin Conservation Organization) to adopt a dolphin and try our best to restore a better living environment for them. BRITA as a company which specialize in water filtration for more than 50 years is committed to creating a sustainable impact in the world of water. Our vision is changing the way people drink water sustainably and reducing the use of bottled water, thereby reducing the long-term environmental impact of single-use plastic bottles.
From March 2020, BRITA started “Cartridge recycle” project with qualified institutions in Shanghai and went national in September of the same year. Consumers are encouraged to send back the used cartridges, where the shell of the cartridge will be used for plastic recycling, and the filling material inside will be buried according to national regulations. “Give the cartridge a second life” is the core of the project.
Till now, more than 194,000 cartridges have been recycled. From 2022 to July 2023, more than 155,000 cartridges have been recycled, equivalent to reducing the use of more than 12 million 500ml plastic bottles. The project has been welcomed by consumers and recognized by various social organizations. In 2020, BRITA won the "Benefit Enterprise Future" Chinese Corporate Responsibility - Social Contribution Award. In 2021, "Benefit Enterprise Future" future of Chinese corporate responsibility - environmental responsibility award; In 2022, "Benefit Enterprise Future" future of Chinese Corporate Responsibility - Society Category.
