The dual vocational education program at Volkswagen Automatic Transmission Tianjin (VWATJ) is an education mode of school-enterprise cooperation based on a German concept. The project was established in 2016 by VWATJ and it aims to jointly train highly skilled young talents in the automobile industry.
In cooperation with colleges and university, we jointly develop professional teaching plans and course contents, and jointly implement teaching and training. Our cooperative colleges and universities cover Tianjin and Hebei Province, including secondary vocational school, higher vocational education college and Applied University. We share the responsibility to train young talents by combining theoretical learning at vocational schools and practical training in a company. It is the first step for the young people towards their future career and further development. Started in 2016, we have trained nearly 500 high skilled apprentices in technical areas and provide about 300 jobs for the graduates. In 2019, we also expanded our project into the commercial area. It now involves ca. 200 German Bachelor degree students, which will be jointly educated by our company and a Sino-German university. In order to further promote social development, optimize the talent structure and enhance training ability, an agreement on the joint establishment of a dual vocational, industrial education college was signed between a Sino-German university and VWATJ in 2020.
