Environmental issues have always been a continuing concern for advanced companies around the world. As a socially responsible company, Volkswagen Automatic Transmission (Tianjin) (VWATJ) focuses on four prioritized action areas: Climate Change, Resources, Emission, and Environmental Compliance with their “Go To Zero” project. “Go To Zero “ refers to production that has no impact on the environment (zero impact). It is a vision proposed in the Volkswagen Group’s 2025 strategy, which reflects the company’s determination to take the environment as the leading factor for its production strategy. The company formulated an environmental mission statement and carried out several activities to encourage employees to participate. In addition, VW Group and VW China participated in the project. Through seminars, email communication, web conferences, etc., the company was able to compare the environmental measures and data of each legal entity, and formulate the project’s vision, strategy, and goals. The company will continue to use their strategy and encourage all departments to take on more environmental protection measures toward their vision of “Go To Zero”.
