[Beijing, January 17, 2023] Volkswagen Group China has been certified as a China Top Employer by the Top Employers Institute for the ninth consecutive year. The Group was recognized as one of the Top 3 Performers among all 139 certified Top Employers. Despite all the uncertainties and challenges in 2022, the Group surpassed benchmarks in all 20 audited topics and received 100% positive feedback in 15 topics, including leadership, diversity & inclusion and sustainability.

Following Volkswagen Group’s strong push for e-mobility and the target of achieving carbon neutrality by 2050, Volkswagen Group China has been consistently promoting sustainable development as one of the Group’s priorities. Since 2021, it has carried out a diversified series of cultural initiatives with the aim of raising employees’ awareness of sustainability. The Group initiated the annual CSR Week to keep employees up to date on its CSR strategies, goals and project progress, significantly boosting employee participation.


Diversified and open company culture is also one of the core values that support Volkswagen Group China’s development. In the last three years, the Group has continuously increased the proportion of local employees and female employees in management positions, while promoting the career development of female employees. The Top Employers Institute is the global authority that recognizes excellence in people practices. It certifies organizations based on the participation and results of their HR Best Practice Survey. The survey covers 6 HR domains consisting of 20 topics along with 350 questions, from people strategy to working environment.
