Project Name: Supporting Special Olympics East Asia Athlete Leadership Training

The Athlete Leadership Training, an annual regional event organized by Special Olympics and hosted by Inclusion Factory, was successfully held on August 22-24, 2023 in Taicang, Jiangsu Province. The event aimed to train and empower Special Olympics athletes and their mentors to become influential leaders and practitioners who can drive positive change. The event attracted approximately 100 Special Olympics athletes, mentors, youth/teen leaders, volunteers, and local communities with intellectual disabilities from six member organizations.  

The program included Athletic Leadership, Unified Leadership and Storytelling workshops. Participants also went to the Inclusion Factory where under the patient guidance of staff and employees with intellectual disabilities, the athletes tried their hands at processing spare parts for the automotive and electrical industries, experiencing a production process with great public service value.
