Packaging tapes, depending on the packaging method, can be categorized into sealing tapes and zipper tapes. Based on the requirements of the global plastic ban, sustainable development and biodiversity, tesa tape has been developing and launching a wide range of sustainable packaging tape solutions since 2022, including but not limited to, paper-based carton sealing tapes with different load-bearing capacity, film sealing tapes made of PCR-PET, paper-based box-opening tear tapes, and paper-based reinforcement tape. Each series of products has responsible sourcing for raw materials, solvent-free and environmentally friendly production processes, and recycling friendliness tested according to INGEDE Method 12, providing a wide range of solutions for a variety of applications in various industries and contributing to sustainable packaging.
Explanation of Circular Economy Practice
Materials resource:
Paper-based tapes are derived from sustainably managed forests, which protects the sustainable exploitation of forest resources and the communities that depend on them; PCR-PET materials are derived from post-consumer recycled materials, which effectively realizes a circular economy and avoids the use of virgin plastic materials.
Production process:
The sustainable packaging tapes are produced using a solvent-free production process, which avoids the impact of solvents on the environment. At the same time, it reduces the generation of waste during the production process.
End of lifecycle treatment:
The sustainable packaging tapes have been tested for recyclability, i.e. the tape part can be recycled together with the packaging without additional sorting. This improves the efficiency of post-processing, avoids material waste and increases the recyclable content of the packaging.
